Kurt Kay-Denten

Kurt is a classically trained hairdresser with over 30 years’ experience in the hair and beauty industry. His love of hair began at the age of 6, when he decided with certainty that he was going to be a hairdresser. Having honed his craft over many years, Kurt managed a number of salons where he was head of staff training.

Kurt opened his first salon at Castle Cove in 2001, which was a finalist for Most Outstanding Hairdresser in the Local Business Awards. His second salon was located at Seaforth, before he took time out to be a stay-at-home dad. When it was time to change gears, he opened a highly successful award-winning men’s grooming studio, before his love of hair design lead him back to Seaforth, where he was again a finalist for Most Outstanding Hairdresser in the Local Business Awards for two successive years. He now brings his years of experience to Whitehouse Hair, which he owns and manages with his wife Melanie.

Kurt prides himself on his ability to truly understand a client's wants and needs: designing each hairstyle to suit their hair type, facial features, personality and lifestyle. His exceptional customer service and eye for detail have ensured a loyal following of clients for nearly two decades.

Melanie Kay-Denten

Melanie is a media professional, with an extensive, award-winning career spanning over 30 years. Her drive to succeed in the cut-throat world of advertising saw her become one of Australia’s youngest Media Agency owners at the age of 29. Her clients included some of the biggest brands in the global arena, including the Pepsico Group and Mel Gibson’s Icon Films. She is widely regarded for her professionalism and high levels of customer service, going above and beyond to deliver the best possible outcomes for her clients.

Now a mother to two young children, Melanie brings her exceptional business, advertising and client service skills to Whitehouse Hair. She strongly believes in the wide ranging benefits of true quality hair and wellness services, and takes great pride in managing the salon to ensure a seamless, relaxing and holistic result for clients.
